I moved to Singapore nearly two years ago. I can say Singapore is pretty safe for parents. I lost my elder son at the shopping mall once. Of course, as a dad, I went to each corner to find him especially the toilet, you know what I mean? At the end, one of the shoppers told me that he saw a young boy lost his way and informed the security guard. In some cities, I might not be able to find my boy anymore which is scary. My friend from other country also said that he was very surprise the parents would allow their kids running around without keeping an eye on them all the time. I can say, as a working father/mother, if you work in a city that you feel safe to your family, you can focus on your work and would not be distracted.
Also, there are many free activities and space for the kids in the city such as the waterpark at Garden By The Bay and East Coast Park, and Botanic Garden. As a dad, I feel happy and relieved when I see the smile in my kids' face.
The importance of a safe and comfortable environment can also apply to our work. Of course, there is company politics in each company. If the senior executives and team leaders can create a safe and comfortable working environment to their team members by fairness, support, trustworthiness and rewards, their team members will be more focus to their tasks (dedication) and grow with the company together instead of googling for the next job.

Currently two of my friends quit their jobs and moved to other cities to look for a safer environment to their kids no matter they needed to sell their house and get a lower-paid job locally. To both the economy of their original city and their career development, it is a lose-lose situation. It is the same as a large corporate. If the company/team is not stable, the turnover rates will be high and the company has to spend time and money on investing in recruiting and training new talents instead of setting strategies to grow the business.
In short, as a company executive/team lead, we should create an enjoyable working environment for our team members so that we can grow together and create a win-win situation.
