WeWork Is Now Listed!! A Revolutionary Time For Workplace

Finally WeWork is listed. Though I am not working at WeWork, it was a very big news to me and my company as we are in the same industry. I believe JustCo will be followed. What is the impact of WeWork to be listed and why I paid attention to this?

During Covid, many workplace providers around the world were dead with the rise of remote working as the norm. Not only traditional offices but also coworking space like WeWork and Arcc Spaces. Some companies decided to allow employees to work from home permanently while some reduced their office size that means they were either cutting their office space budget or negotiating with landlords. Though some companies moved from traditional offices to coworking spaces, some existing companies were still moving out or reducing their size. Some even asked for rental fee reduction. When I passed by few sites of our competitors, most of them were empty which were same as ours.

I was very surprised WeWork chose this time to be listed and the stock price has been going up. What does it mean? The analysts think that the market still have rooms to grow and will not die. As the Head of Marketing of Arcc Spaces, I felt relieved.

Let's don't talk about their business models. I really like their social media content. Most of their videos are innovative, motivational and inspiring. I heard from their ex-employee saying that WeWork has a crew for content development. Most businesses keep on saying that 'Content is the king', however, they don't invest in content development. How could they create engaging content?

I should say that content development is an investment which might not have direct ROI in terms of lead generation. But will you google a company before you purchase or join a new company? Content development is a long-term investment.

I have been working for two WeWork's competitors and am very impressed by WeWork's tenants and employees that they are very proud to share where they work, why they enjoy working there and how they interact with each other. As the marketing head, I wish I can build a brand like WeWork with so many 'Like' and followers. These require lots of hard work not only from marketing, but product team, customer service team, sales team and even finance team.

Lastly, I am so happy for WeWork but we will not lose to WeWork. We will learn from WeWork and continue to improve our product quality and customer experience to retain our loyal customers and acquire new customers :)
